Twitter goes to work

There appears to be a big fascination with the internet application twitter. I must admit that everytime I hear someone mention tweeter, I wonder about its fascination. Certainly hollywood, washington and many others can be heard talking about their tweets. I am constantly thinking how can business utilize this technology for their gain. Is it more hype than work. Today I read an interesting article on the comcast twitter team coaching Salesforce.com on ways to integrate twitter with their CRM. I can see this postively affecting customer service. If you know of any other business application of twitter it would be interesting to share it with us.

3-D patient models can open doors for healthcare industry

A Danish hospital is testing 3-D models of the body (IBM development). According to the report, doctors will now be able to make a 3-D image of the body and zoom in and out to their desired level of detail.

As a lay person it appears that doctors can view internal images without surgery. This can positively impact the level of care and hold the potential to reduce costs affiliated with surgery. Of course this is just in the initial step but I am hopeful of the promises this hold for our future healthcare.
